OS PROBLEMAS DE SANEAMENTO E SEUS IMPACTOS SOBRE A SAÚDE PÚBLICA

The article aims to discuss the impacts of sanitation on public health, since it is believed that there is a close interrelation between them, which explains the importance of public planning that takes into account the connection between the two sectors. Bearing in mind that the improvement in basic sanitation is one of the essential means for the prevention of waterborne diseases and epidemics. It is of significant importance to develop a debate about the difficulty in the task of cause-effect detection in a basic sanitation system in other areas and to improve the efficiency of the sector. It was possible to point out that despite improvements in the sector, there are historical deficiencies that need to be solved mainly with regard to the incorrect adequacy of the infrastructure system, as well as the existence of legal and socioeconomic gaps, which, in turn, cause impacts negative to those segments of the lower income population.
