Submission Guidelines

As part of the submission process, authors are required to verify the compliance of the submission against all items listed below. Submissions that do not conform to the standards will be returned to the authors.

Guidelines for Authors

The Journal of Literature, History and Memory, a semiannual publication of the Graduate Program in Modern Languages of the Western Paraná State University (Unioeste), receives articles and essays, according to the journal's guidelines. The project welcomes original and unpublished manuscripts of interest to the scientific community. Contributions in Portuguese, English, Spanish, Italian, and German are accepted and will be submitted to the Journal's Editorial Board for consideration. The author(s) are entirely responsible for the use of images, content belonging to third parties, and the mention of research subjects. The Journal is not responsible for the opinions, ideas, concepts and positions expressed in the texts, which are the entire responsibility of the author (or authors), who are also responsible for the use of photos, images, references, translations, collections, among others. The authors should carefully observe the rules below when submitting their manuscripts. Manuscripts submitted to the journal WILL NOT BE EVALUATED if their authors do not follow the journal guidelines.

- The Journal of Literature, History and Memory will only accept manuscripts from master's and doctoral students duly enrolled in graduate programs in Brazil and abroad, as well as from master's and doctoral researchers.

- Submission must be done exclusively through the journal system, and authors must register before submitting their manuscripts.

- The submitted manuscripts may not have more than three authors, and may not contain any information identifying authorship. The names of their respective authors will be inserted at a later stage, if the text is accepted for publication.

- Besides the need to remove any authorship information from the manuscript file itself, its identification must be removed from the "Word Properties" option, which ensures the journal confidentiality criteria (peer review), UNDER PENALTY OF IMMEDIATE REJECTION OF THE MANUSCRIPT. To do this please take the following steps: 1) Right click on the file and go to the "Properties" option. A new window will open. 2) In the "Details" tab at the bottom of the window click "Remove Properties and Personal Information". Another window will open. 3) In this new window, select the option "Remove the following properties from this file". There are two properties where the authorship information of the file is saved: "Authors" and "Saved by". Check the two boxes and click "OK". Then, in the first window, click "OK" as well.

- Authors' full information must be duly registered in the metadata system of the journal, otherwise the submitted manuscript will not be evaluated. The following data is mandatory for each author: full name, institution, title, Lattes CV link and ORCiD link.

- The journal reserves the right to publish an approved manuscript in a later issue if it has a large number of accepted manuscripts.

- Manuscripts submitted to the journal must be unpublished and not under consideration for publication elsewhere.

- The manuscripts submitted to the journal must be related to the field of Literature.

- Authors who have had a manuscript published in the journal cannot have another manuscript evaluated in a subsequent issue.
