Abstract

In the XXI century we find the need to reconcile technological advances and maintain the cultural bases, generate employment and income, that inclusion of people in conditions of social vulnerability, and minimize environmental impact with the growing waste generation and create conditions for an effective sustainable environment. The relationship between humans and the ecosystem is critical when it seeks an ecologically balanced process. With the search for progress towards a sustainable society, we encounter many obstacles due to limited awareness, about the implications of the current development model. Thus, it is important to know the major ecosystems that interact with human activity, to understand the negative impacts and thus perform management actions, to be able to recover and maintain the ecosystem in order to prevent irreversible degradation of this. This review is the exploration of issues surrounding the aquatic ecosystem, urban and agricultural, including the need to align the economic and social activities and protect the planet by ensuring a sustainable future for all peoples.
