Abstract

The Church of Pentecostal Christian Congregation origin in Brazil has been little discussed and analyzed in the ethnographic and anthropological literature on Brazilian religious field. Even less has been reflected on the relationship of this church and the category of holiness, a category in key (cosmos) Christian logic as a whole. Thus, this article, on the one hand, intends to expand ethnographic knowledge of this denomination of Brazilian classical Pentecostalism; on the other, it aims to understand how the sanctity category is conceived and practiced among the female faithful of this church. Our main argument is that holiness is then designed and the performed, especially in and through women's bodies. Being holiness accordingly embodied.
