Resumen

The objective of this work is to analyze how the manifestation of power and the violence woven on the inevitability and fatality inherent to the tragic occurs in the short story “Esses Lopes”, by Guimarães Rosa, who shows how Flausina, the character-narrator, suffers a nullity process as an human being before the opressive power of the maler order, whenever becoming wife of many men of the Lopes family. In order to change this situation as the only possible way of altering a logic apparently unchangeable, this woman uses violence, the same method to which she was submitted.
