Lenguaje, resonancia personal y ética en Charles Taylor

Charles Taylor es uno de los hermeneutas más destacados de los últimos años. Entre sus temas
centrales se cuenta la superación del naturalismo, del procedimentalismo, y del externalismo en
ética. Sus análisis combinan, de manera tan laboriosa como proteica, aspectos históricos y analíticos.
En este trabajo intento una reflexión sobre algunos ejes temáticos de una de sus grandes obras: Las
fuentes del yo (1989). Sobrevuelo conceptos-clave como evaluación fuerte, argumento ad hominem,
articulación, y la centralidad del lenguaje poético/retórico en el campo de la ética. La tesis a la que
apunto, desarrollada en el último y más largo de los apartados, es que solo el modus discursivo
poético/retórico es capaz de liberar la fuerza moral y espiritual de los bienes constitutivos. Sin esa
liberación, sin esa convergencia de energética y hermenéutica, los bienes morales están llamados a
secarse, alienarse y, en el extremo, desaparecer.
