DIAGNOSIS OF THE THROWS AT THE BRAZILIAN MASCULINE NATIONAL LEAGUE OF HANDBALL 1999

Abstract

A significant number of studies discussing several aspects of athletes’ preparation in collective sports have been published all over the world in the last years. However, it is noted divergences and a lack of consensus among several researchers because of difficulties with elaboration and training prescription based upon quantification of motive actions. The present study aims to diagnose and to analyze the competitive structure of handball at the Masculine National League of Handball 1999. A descriptive study was structured to analyze the volume of throws accomplished by the different functions as the center backs, right and left backs, the right and left wings and the pivots. The data were collected in a total of 5 games of the National League of Handball in 1999 and later accomplished a descriptive analysis. The presented data of the throws accomplished by different functions demonstrate some interesting points, such as the throws, which is noticed that all of the players accomplish the shoulder throw more frequently with support when compared to the other types of throws. The adequateness of the systemization of athletes’ preparation, especially throws, is expected with the development of this project in South America, specifically in Brazil.
