Abstract

The objective of this investigation was analyzing the contributions of the school administration for the Physical Education Teachers’ professional development. The methodology was based on the phenomenology and in the qualitative approach. The participants of the study were five teachers of Physical education in the state public educational system in the city of Santa Maria (RS). Semi-structured interviews with these teachers were made for the collection of the information, being interpreted according to an analysis of the content. In the context of that investigation it was evidenced that the contributions of the school administration for the Physical education teachers’ professional development both in the space of the pedagogic meetings and the class councils was very stimulating for promoting reflexive actions in teachers’ formation. However, in this study it was noticed that this possibility of professional development has not been explored in an effective way.
