The advance of statistics in physical education

The objective of this study is to discuss the relevance of statistics in Physical Education, analyzing its application in higher education and academic research. The study highlights that many students and professors underestimate its importance, limiting themselves to descriptive statistics. It concludes that it is essential to expand the teaching of inferential statistics, preparing students for more advanced analyses. Moreover, there is a need to overcome resistance to statistics, promoting its integration as an essential tool in scientific knowledge production in the field.
