Abstract

The following research tried to continue with the grid development referring to the setter tactical-strategic knowledge in volleyball. The sample had as volunteers the champions of the States of São Paulo and Minas Gerais promoted by their respective Federations on the ages Mirim (under 14), Infantile (under 15), Infant (under 17) and Juvenile (under 20), one more adult champion (Professional) from the Men’s and Women’s Super League (n=18). It was applied one individual and semi-structured interview referenced on the setter tactical-strategic knowledge grid (Queiroga, 2005). The eighteen semi-structured interview texts were coded, compared and grouped by sense similarity (MINAYO; SANCHES, 1993; THOMAS; NELSON, 2002). Through a logical and semantic interpretation of the interviews. This research confirmed the categories already existents on the setter tactical-strategic knowledge grid. Besides that, allow the new characteristics add: Spiker’s Number Moved, Service Opponent Features, Tactical and Technical Characteristics of our Players to Pass and Dig and Coach. This new grid created since this study, continuous of the following researches: Mesquita and Graça (2002a) and Queiroga (2005), it could be used to support and contribute on the setter teaching-learning-training process in volleyball.
