Abstract

It is believed that the JUMP FIT ® promotes the improvement of general physical fitness with low impact. The aim of this study was to identify the contributions of this modality in improving body composition. The evaluations were performed every 6 months in 16 women (27.94 ± 9.23 years). For statistical analysis we used SPSS for Windows® version 11.5 with basic descriptive statistics, t-test for paired samples and Pearson linear correlation (r). The results showed that skinfold suprailiac and thigh showed a linear reduction. The percentage of fat and fat mass showed a reduction in their averages. In turn, the lean body mass showed an average increase of 2 kg. We observed moderate correlations between the number of classes and percentage fat (r =- 0.67 p <0.01), fat mass (r =- 0.63 p <0.01) and body mass index (r =- 0.54 p <0.05). It was concluded that the JUMP FIT ® can be stated as a modality that provides not only the aerobic condition, but also the maintenance and improvement of morphological features.
