THE CONCEPTUAL DEBATE ABOUT HEALTH AND DISEASE: CONTRIBUTIONS FOR THE PHYSICAL EDUCATION

We start the analysis of two reference works of Public Health, “The disease” by Giovanni Berlinguer (1988) and “What is health?” by Naomar de Almeida-Filho (2011), trying to show the differentiated con¬tribution that such works develop with respect to interpretations and con¬textualization that ‘health’ and ‘disease’ can be offer – in addittion to the biomedical paradigm. Featured categories are addressed in these works, which allow further dialogue with relevant issues of everyday life. In this sense, the incorporation of conceptual problematization can bring impor¬tant contributions related to Physical Education, especially in terms of their integration in the spheres of public health services.Downloads
