Efeitos da acupuntura sobre níveis pressóricos e qualidade de vida de hipertensos: uma revisão sistemática

Resumo

INTRODUÇÃO: A hipertensão arterial sistêmica é uma condição multifatorial que provoca danos em diversos sistemas do corpo e que possui tratamento baseado em medicações anti-hipertensivas e medidas não farmacológicas, que costumam ter pouca adesão. Assim, tem crescido o interesse pela medicina alternativa, porque esta, oferece tratamento sem, ou com poucos efeitos colaterais. A acupuntura é uma das técnicas alternativas mais populares.
OBJETIVO: Revisar a literatura para conhecer os protocolos utilizados e os efeitos do tratamento com acupuntura tradicional em pacientes hipertensos.
MÉTODOS: Trata-se de uma revisão sistemática da literatura que incluiu ensaios clínicos com período de publicação de 2009 a 2019, coletados por meio de busca nas bases de dados SciELO, EBSCO e PubMed.
RESULTADOS: Os 12 artigos incluídos no estudo divergiram no uso dos acupontos, tempo de tratamento, frequência das sessões e outras diferenças técnicas. A maioria dos artigos utilizou a acupuntura como única terapia e obtive redução da pressão arterial em até 22,6±90 mmhg/10,1±4,8 mmHg. Os efeitos hipotensores da acupuntura parecem envolvidos com regulação cortical, psicológica e emocional, atuação sobre o sistema renina-angiotensina-aldosterona e melhora da atividade autonômica. Quatro estudos investigaram os efeitos na qualidade de vida, sendo observada melhora nos escores de vitalidade, saúde mental e dor corporal.
CONCLUSÃO: O uso de acupuntura para o tratamento da hipertensão arterial sistêmica demonstra efeitos positivos na redução da pressão arterial, apesar de não ter um consenso do melhor protocolo de tratamento.
