Abstract

This article proposes an analysis about the identity concept through a philosophicaland sociological approach. How is the identity made? What relationship exists inthis construction, between the individual and otherness? How is it important, for the constructionof identity, language, ethics and culture? From these issues and through philosophicaltheories such as Paul Ricoeur whose preparation is a synthesis between extremepositions such as Descartes and Nietzsche and Freud, and sociological theories groundedespecially in Stuart Hall which presents a conceptual framework where identity is a socialconstructed process, discursively and ethically throughout life. A mistaken identity or fracturedwhose construction is always mediated and oblique.
