Componentes filosóficos do olhar trágico-histórico em Machado de Assis

Abstract

This article seeks to identify and analyze the formation and meaning of the tragic-history thoughts in Machado de Assis from the study and the analysis of some of its main critics: Barreto Filho, Miguel Reale and Afrânio Coutinho. These critics established an intelligibility of the machadiano literary project from the historicity of his philosophical and contextual influences. The tragic-look of Machado will summarize a state of consciousness that singularized him in the intellectual scene in Brazil, once understood that the end of the nineteenth century by the filter of pessimism, the disenchantment, the break of appearances, nihilism of contradiction etc. The fundamental idea of the article, therefore, is to historicize a literary tradition that takes philosophy as a key reading from the “project creator” in Machado de Assis.
