Abstract

Summary: In this text we search to tatear the interpretation politics of the thought of Saint Augustin, especially its concept of State. In this author we evidence cares with the objective necessities of the people to the side of concerns spirituals. In the thought of Saint Augustin, however, the philosophy and the theology are indissociáveis. Consequently, the thought politician of Saint Augustin is coated with a philosophical-religious conception of world of which, however, it is possible to extract it. Thus it is possible to understand that how much the politics, it it has initially a negative conception of the state function; according to it, if he did not have sin and the men were all right ones, the State would be useless. Saint Augustin insists on the impossibility of the State to arrive at an authentic justice if not to
conduct itself for the moral principles of the Christianity. Saint Augustin searchs the construction of a moral politics established in an utopia: of the Christian faith that longs for and that it fights more just for a world. Saint Augustin searchs the love as bedding of the social order, so that if it becomes the State of God.
