Abstract

The present work aims to show part of the ethnography carried out on the IURD’s Temple of Solomon, highlighting how religious identities are formed in the Temple and the construction of the Temple’s narrative as a “place for all” based on the figure of the tourist. I use data obtained from bibliographic research, ethnography carried out at the Temple of Solomon in São Paulo in 2018 and from interviews carried out in 2021. The Temple of Solomon brought transformations in the Brás neighborhood that shaped the religious field of the place, also influencing in the offerings of services and services of the Temple of Solomon. The architecture of the Temple and the experiences beyond the cult are built together in reference to the elements of Mythical and Jewish Israel and allow visitors, members and tourists/visitors who go there to experience religious, recreational/tourist experiences and/or conformation and constitution. of identities.
