Abstract

For centuries sung, love inspires numerous discourses and works of art, but remains on the margins of literature without accurate scientific references. In "Fragments of a Lover's Discourse", the entry "Adorable" talks about the specificity of passion, about the minimum which contains the whole, just like the fetish. Besides the classic of Roland Barthes, we listed the main contributions of Sigmund Freud in regard of the fetish, literature and mystery of the artistic creation; the discussion proposed also includes the concept of "Imago", idealized by Jung and also originating from Literature, and some thesis of Italo Calvino on the permanent need of the classics.  Having the search for love as an example, literature remains necessary for it fictionalizes essential knowledge to the understanding of human dilemmas.
