It is known that most of the teachers admit to having difficulty in addressing the issues facing the history and African literature, is due to an incipient academic training in the treatment of such content, is the lack of specific courseware. Therefore, were taken as a corpus of this study books from 1st to 3rd grade (three each grade), namely: 1 - Portuguese languages, William Cereja and Thereza Magalhaes (2013); 2- Be protagonist: Portuguese, Rogério de Araujo Ramos (2013) and 3- Portuguese language, Roberta Hernandes Alves and Vima Lia Martin (2013). The collections were investigated based on the National Curriculum Parameters (PCN) high school, which support the reflection on teaching practice and, above all, the development of the school curriculum; the Guide Textbook: 2015 - Portuguese high school, responsible for review of the collections approved by the National Textbook Program (PNLD), whose central purpose support the pedagogical work of teachers through the distribution of textbooks collection students of basic education, and the Law 10.639 / 03 - adopted in March 2003 - which deals with the teaching of history and african-Brazilian and African culture, making it compulsory in primary and secondary schools. This law brings additions to the Guidelines and Framework Law (LDB), as proposed by fostering an education that legitimate diversity, recognizing and appreciating the origins of the Brazilian people. By encouraging the contact of young students with African authored texts, the school contributes to the knowledge of the African roots of our culture, establishes the dialogue between Brazilian literature and other literature, provides a range of texts available to the individual player as well as assists in breaking down prejudices against the black, especially the production of African authors. In addition, the works of writers and African writers are an important analysis of material to rethink little movement of such texts in the academic literature and programs of secondary schools.
