Abstract

In the following paragraphs I will discuss a French book which is one of the most important written during the 1990s about AIDS. Hervé Guibert undertakes a discourse of self-fictionalization which enables us to enter into the construction of a moral and grammar consonant with his illness, making this plain record into a dramatization, in a Barthesian sense, of a finite condition which evolves as an oeuvre more important even than life itself.
