Abstract

Nostalgia of childhood marks the poetry of Fernando Pessoa, as relating to mythical and idealization. The objective of this research is to analyze the poems Lisbon Revisited (1923) and Lisbon Revisited (1926) by Alvaro de Campos, in his imagistic components, his revealed confrontations of the emptiness of the self and the connection with the poetic process that links Modernism to memory. Examining the explicit confrontation with the city of Lisbon after generalizing the figure of the foreigner to all the needs of involvement and social commitment (poem, 1923). Interpreting the poems, since the strangeness of the title and the need to inquire about the process of heteronomy, nihilism and the passivity, despite the connection to memory, (poem, 1926).
