A BUSCA POR UMA IDENTIDADE FEMININA EM “DIVING INTO THE WRECK”, DE ADRIENNE RICH: A DESMISTIFICAÇÃO DA POSTURA PANFLETÁRIA E A RELAÇÃO DE ALTERIDADE ENTRE O OUTRO E O OUTRO

Abstract

The woman was - and still is - subjectively characterized by different approaches that often distort the concept of feminism, preventing this discussion, in different circumstances, confusing definitions for this and relegating it to the pure and simple (in the sense of common sense)cause of disclosure of so-called rights that everyone has, using, for the observance of these, the label of the female. This paper aims to analyze the poem Diving into the Wreck, of the American Adrienne Rich, explaining a determined setting of the search for female identity, not primarily propagandistic, which are not intended to strengthen the still significant gap of gendered relations, positioning itself antagonistically to the element male, but minimize it in order to reveal the natural relations of alterity that can be established between man and woman, these relationships often not necessarily determined by the threshold of their natural performances, but by the very propositions of social tradition. To do so, we will use the theoretical framework provided by Showalter (1994), Haraway (1994), Bonnici(2009), Zolin(2009), among others.
