Abstract

This article contains some information about the american author joel chandler harris and his literary works which relate to the speech and the folklore of the blacks who lived in the rural south of the united states in the 19th century. It presents two portuguese translations of one of harris’ songs, including an analysis of rhymical and lexical aspects of the original song and one of the translations.
