Breves observações sobre o empirismo construtivo de Van Fraassen

Abstract

In the conception of constructive empiricism, specific themes of the empiricist tradition permeate such as the
proposal for an escape from metaphysics, the determination of the objective of science and scientific theories,
as well as the foundation of valid criteria for the distinction between science and metaphysics. The empiricist
tradition is reviewed in van Fraassen's vision in a resumption of the issues from a critical perspective that
aims to rehabilitate the anti-realist vision. We will present here a description of the fundamental points of
van Fraassen's philosophy, asking, at the end, a question about the following points: van Fraassen's voluntary
position, the observable/unobservable distinction, the coherence of the concept of empirical adequacy and
