Abstract

The Brazilian public school, in the last decades, started to attend more and morestudents from low social classes. By assuming this role, which historically justifies the existenceof public school, it has intensified the necessity of continuous discussions about therole of the basic education in the society projects that is desired for the country. Thisexplanation aims to provide a sociological reflection on the guidelines where a reorientationin the curricular policy is provided in order to construct a fair society, with equal opportunitiesfor everybody.
