This research seeks to highlight thoughts of Applied Linguistics (LA) concerning the transdisciplinary aspect. Therefore, the goal is theoretically reflect about LA and its relation with transdisciplinarity. Initially, we discuss the issues concerning the applied linguistics, with a quick historical path of the research area and pointing how the same is being considered by linguists. Next we discuss beneath the transdisciplinary way of working with research in LA, outlining the new way that this science is being rewritten. We adopt bibliographical methodology for this study because it is a theoretical research, using sources of researchers as Nicolescu, Leffa, Celani, among other authors. We expect this study contribute to researches in LA.
