About the Journal
Publishing Policies
FOCUS & SCOPE:
Publication of the Research Group on Education, Culture, Language and Art and the Graduate Program in Languages: Language and Society of Unioeste - Western Paraná State University. The project aims to disseminate research and studies by teachers and student researchers related to education, culture, language, and art, to those researching on these themes in the forms of articles, essays, images and sounds, documents and sources, reviews, translations, and literary creation.

Peer Review Assessment Procedure
Each submission will be sent for assessment of independent researchers, through the double blind system, aiming at maintaining impartiality in the evaluation process as well as verifying whether the subject is relevant enough to justify the manuscript publication and verifying if the issue is presented in a way that is suitable for academic language, specially with regard to scientific and technical assessment of the text. The referees are researchers with recognized qualifications, from teaching and research institutions from various regions of Brazil and abroad, who belong to the scientific board and the team of referees registered in the journal's system (ad hoc referees).
When examining an original manuscript, the referee should note issues regarding authorship and plagiarism. In case of discrepancy, a third referee evaluates the work. The consultants receive no remuneration for their services.

Free Access Policy
This journal offers free instant access to its content, following the principle that when free scientific knowledge is provided to the public there is a greater global democratization of knowledge.

Archiving
This journal uses the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archive system among participating libraries and allows libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for preservation and restoration. Read more.

Submission System: continuous submission and thematic dossiers
For continuous submission, manuscripts can be submitted at any date. As soon as they are submitted, the reviewers will be assigned and, if approved, they will be incorporated into the next issue to be published. In the case of thematic dossiers, calls for papers are announced on the journal's website, with their respective themes and submission deadlines.

Time lag between manuscript submission and reviews
Up to six months.

Responsibilities
- Manuscripts should follow the instructions available at "Peer Review Process";
- The authors are fully responsible for the content of the text (whether statements, opinions, or expressions present in the manuscripts);
- The authors are responsible for grammatical revision of manuscripts. The manuscript must already be revised at the time of submission.
- By submitting the manuscript at Travessias, if accepted, the author automatically author authorizes its publication. Copyright will not be paid.

Review Format
The following aspects are observed by reviewrs at the time of evaluation:
- Adequacy of the title to the manuscript content;
- Adequacy of the abstract (containing objective, method, results and conclusion);
- Development of the article introduction (succinct explanation of why the research was carried out);
- Clearly defined objectives of the work;
- Methodology of the work;
- Ethical approval for all studies involving human participants;
- Presentation of the results obtained (consistency of the statements, without speculation);
- Conclusion of the work (relation with the objective(s);
- Relevance of the proposed discussion;
- Cohesion, coherence, objectivity and structure of the article.

DOI
Travessias informs all authors that only manuscripts published after 2020 have a DOI identifier.
