THE CONCEPTION OF READING THAT PERMEATES THE WORK OF THE TEACHER

This article begins from the premise that reading is not only identify words in texts; more than that, is acknowledging that these words have determined sense within the context in which they find themselves. Based on this assumption, the objective of this paper is to discuss the different conceptions of reading curtail teaching and to relate them to understandings of teachers of 4th and 5th year (the initial years). For this, anchored in Geraldi (1997); Kleiman (2008), Leffa (1999), Menegassi and Angelo (2005), among other focusing on reflection on reading. The present article forms part of a research Master's in progress, under ethnographic basis, case study, by getting involved directly (through interviews and participant observation) with teachers from a school of municipal school system that had a result below 5, 0 IDEB in 2011. however, for this text in particular, we will make an analysis of interviews conducted with seven teachers who work in the 4th and 5th year, and verify that the conception of reading that permeates the work of these years.
