READING: THE MAIN INPUT TO THE TEXT PRODUCTION

The aim of this article is to discuss about the importance of reading in the develop of the text production in school level, and also share the results obtained in a didactic experience of reading and writing attached to a partnership project between the State University of Western Paraná and a rural school in Cascavel – Paraná. The discussion engendered here is mainly about the efficiency of a wide and varied reading about a specific subject and its contribution to the construction and consolidation of the knowledge with a view to making the textual production easier. In other words, by reading students may expand the linguistic knowledge, the perception of the characteristics of different text genres and the possibilities of constructing arguments to be defended in the production of the text. The theoretical foundation of this article relies on authors like Martins (1994), Geraldi (1991) e Bakhtin (2010). The discussion proposed here is guided on Interactional Social Cognitivism and the idea of text as an interaction process producer-text-reader.
