Storyboard is an indispensable tool for the idealization of a film animated or real. Perceives a gap in bibliography to clarify the use of this feature relative to the cognitive aspects involved. In this context, the purpose of this article is to present an explanation of the work process of creating the storyboard directed to films animate and real image and then evaluate the cognitive process of the beholder when it receives the images transmitted by the video. This study will be the basis for building the storyboard of the animated children's series "Aventuras na Ilha" developed by the laboratory attached to the degree program and graduate design UFSC - DesignLab. Then, a review of the existing literature focusing on the possibilities of framing and camera placement, was performed the formation of a glossary of scenes. From this glossary, was made parallel cognition in each plan, forming a cognitive glossary allowing a selection of scenes most consistent that the filmmaker wishes to express.
