Invenção de Orfeu, island, creative imagination.Abstract
Invenção de Orfeu represents an attempt to create a new verbal world and a new real world, better and more humanized, a utopian “island.”. But an island of the eternal movement, transmutable at all times and characteristically orfic by definition, in which the need for creation is privileged in every way. In this text, we will stop our efforts in the analysis of the first canto, “Fundação da ilha”, of Invenção de Orfeu, in order to try to clarify the poetic onslaught of Jorge de Lima to elaborate his epic through the creative imagination, the basic foundation of his architecture.
