Abstract

This paper tries not only to establish relationships between movie and
literature as arts, analyzing its elements, but also intends to investigate magic and
subjectivity between them, and in their influence over their “spectators”. This double
intention is conducted by the analysis of a piece taken as an example of “marriage”
between literature and movie, the film “Wings of Desire” (Wim Wenders) and the põem
“Song of the Childhood” (Peter Handke), and it is based upon theorits of the movies, of
literature, but theorists of psichology, sociology and anthropology, since the concepts of
magic and subjectivity belong to all those fields, concepts that enable us to build a bridge
between the artistic manifestations through the word and through the image, and the matter of the reality apprehension (if this really exists) and its representation. The matter of
the child and its cognitive processes and socialization have a privilege at the analysis
because they do not just explain the constitution of the works of art and our relationship
with them, but they also seem to be questioned in a explicit way by its authors. At last, we
can say that we know how much pretentious this paper can seem to be, as well as we know that this paper is not sufficient to deal with so important and complex questions, so we acknowledge that this is just a “start” of a long way that we still must go, with increments, deductions, editions and many other similar and different analysis, having as a goal a better future comprehension of the broader subject that the link between literature and movie is.
