Abstract

Starting from the assumption that the relationship between tradition and

modernity is established through dialogue, rather than an apparent rupture, this article aims

to reflect upon this question based on the analisys of the use of metaphor in western lyric

poetry from its realistic tradition of depicting the world through the transformation it is

currently undergoing in modern lyric poetry.
