SOBRE EL JARDÍN DE SENDEROS QUE SE BIFURCAN
Keywords:
Borges, Tempo, Romance chinês.Abstract
In this essay, we present a reading of El Jardín de senderos que se bifurcan ,
written by Jorge Luis Borges, focused on the problem of time. In a spying mission, the
main character aims an alleged end, in a certain time; on the other hand, there is a
metaphysical point of view about the time described in a chinese romance, embracing the
totality of possibilities. The Borges’s short story is a logical-metaphysical report. We try to
show that those possibilities are revealed on Borges’s short story, particularly when the
main character’s irrevocable mission dissolves itself in a metaphysical time.
