SANTA CATARINA CHILDREN WHO ARE AUSTRIAN AND ITALIAN

This article presents a profile of Santa Catarina children who are Austrian
and Italian descendents from Treze Tílias and Nova Veneza, it is the result of a survey
conducted with three questionnaires about the cultural traditions, the current cultural
experiences of children and the definition of a standard of physical beauty. The purpose of
the study is to detect the predominant cultural and aesthetic values of the group. The field
study was of an exploratory nature, the work will be continued through other activities,
including an attempt to involve children of other ancestries and ethnicities who are
residents of municipalities in various regions of the State. The goal is to establish a
Network of Childhood Imagination and to create The Santa Catarina Children’s Museum.
