Abstract

This article discusses the relations between culture and education in the cordel literature, by verifying the booklets that express educational concepts. At first, we study the cordel production that deal with education in Brazil between 2001 and 2003. Next, in the perspective of Paulo Freire, in which education and and culture are fundamental to the construction of citizenship and for human emancipation, we analyze the senses of education in these booklets.
