The article presents the comparative study of a common episode between the romance, To the left of the father, of Raduan Nassar (1975), and the film To the left of the father homonym (2001), of Luiz Fernando Carvalho. The objective is to analyze as literature, using itself its varied rhetorical resources, was transposed for the cinematographic language, through two main isotopias of reading.
