The movie “Dear Comrades” (dorogie tovarishchi), by Russian director Andrei Konchalovsky, premiered in Brazil in 2021. The objective of this review is to articulate and problematize the scenes of the movie “Dear Comrades” from two possible keys of analysis (class struggle and political repression) that allow us to understand the period and the political movement portrayed in the film, which is based on facts that occurred in 1962, in the small Russian town of Novocherkassk. The theoretical framework adopted concerns the Marxist interpretation that understands the Soviet social and economic formation from the thesis of state capitalism. The methodology used consisted of adopting the film as a “support” to render problematic the contradictions that affected the Soviet experience and that were captured in sociological terms by the theoretical framework adopted.
