By focussing in the period from the twenties to the sixties, the study starts with Eugene O´Neill plays, and ends with Edward Albee´s plays, including the works of Clifford Odets, Thornton Wilder, Erskine Caldwell, Lillian Hellman, William Inge, Tenesse Wiliams and Arthur Miller, writers and playwriters that represent the best of drama in America at these times.
