THE CLASSIC THEATER’S ORIGINS TO MAMBEMBE’S TRADITION: CONSIDERATIONS ABOUT THE ALMEIDA BENVENUTO FAMILY THEATER

This paper composes the studies about the itinerant theater in the Rio Grande do Sul. It is looked, through the bibliographical research, to establish links that evidence the relations between the classic theater, consecrated for the critical one, and the theater „mambembe‟, popular, that it visits small cities of the interior and presents modest spectacles that, however, represent one of the rare forms of diversion in those communities. One selected for the research the Theater of the Bebé and the Theater of the Serelepe of property of the Benvenuto de Almeida family who, since 1962, travels for the interior of the Rio Grande do Sul, leading joy and diversion to the public.
