PORTRAIT AND SELF-PORTAIT IN NIKKI S. LEE

Using the concepts of portrait and self-portait, this paper does a short analysis of the phographic series "projects" of the contemporary artist Nikki S. Lee. For that, it is necessary to make relations between her artistic production and the problematic relation inside the art history between image and cultural alterity (etnography) of a cultural group (pre)defined.
