LANGUAGE AND PERSUASION: THE GAME WRITTEN IN THE GENRE TEXTUAL CHRONICLE

Adopted as a theoretical reference at contributions of the Rhetorical Analysis of
Discourse and Pragmatic, this article has as main objective to investigate the main game in this
genre argumentative textual chronic. To illustrate what the linguistic strategies used by the
chronicler to convince and persuade the reader/interlocutor, we selected the chronic “O crítico
teatral vai ao casamento”, of Millôr Fernandes.
