Abstract

Some teen and children’s works in Brazilian Literature arise from the intertextual
relationship with children’s stories of other periods and authors. Based in intertextuality
definitions adopted by Ingedore G. Villaça Koch (2007) and Julia Kristeva (1989), among others,
the study mentioned above proposes to investigate which stories are retold, which characters are
rememorated and which stereotypes are recalled and/or questioned in these new stories. We have
chosen as object of study the work Fantástico mistério de Feiurinha, by Pedro Bandeira. In the
conclusion of our analysis, we came across a new perspective of marriage, the search for feminine
emancipation, the demystification of the enchanted prince and the deconstruction of beauty
stereotype.
