Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to briefly retake the contribution of the studies on the social and cognitive aspects of reading, basic to the theoretical knowledge of the primary school teacher. Based on the contributions of Kleiman (1992, 2007), Kleiman and Moraes (1999) and specially Gerald (1984), it shows show how complex is the activity of reading, involving a constant interaction between author, text and reader.
