Abstract

ABSTRACT: This study aims to analyze how the character Nina, by the novel Crônica da casa assassinada, written by Lúcio Cardoso in 1959, react before her disease and death. The cancer of Nina and the degradation caused by the disease have a relation with the familiar degradation witch devastate the family and the Meneses house. Phillipe Áries (2003), Rita Felix Fortes (2010) Roberto Damatta (2001) and José Carlos Rodrigues principles will be used to base this analysis. The death and all that involves it dominates all the moments of this novel and its mystery and fascination involves the reader during all the narrative.
