THE REGISTER OF AN IDEA: ASSERTIONS ABOUT CONCEPTUAL FASHION
Keywords:
Arte Conceitual, Moda Conceitual, ideia, registroAbstract
Fashion has always being seen as something ephemeral, cyclic mutant, but that isjust a partial view of that, great researchers such as Lipovetsky and Barthes admit that Fashion is
more than that. Fashion is action, making or happening, that passes by through society and its
habits without determined time or changing imposition, and within this conception, that
Conceptual Fashion finds its own way. But what is it? We are aware of Conceptual Art, in which
the idea is put as work of art, and that its esthetic comes according its register, which is
indispensable to accomplish the idea, it is known that it is not limited or organized in themes or
techniques. It is not concerned about been vendible or pleasant, just being thought. But what do
we know about Conceptual Fashion? We know that it is fashion possibly for using clothes, not
the industrial clothes, but the clothes made for reflection, a fundamented discussion, and it may
have the support of Conceptual Art. We treat here Conceptual Fashion as part of Visual Arts, in
expositions and museums, and not necessarily attached to the runaways, making part then of a
parallel circuit of the commercial fashion
