REVISITING THE RURAL EDUCATION: PERSPECTIVES OF THE TEACHERS

This article is the about rural education and its representation, narrated by three teachers. The teaching activities of the three teachers initiated in the ‘50s and ‘80s, in rural education, in Santiago-RS. Through the years, these teachers showed different and plausible meanings to rework this environment. In Rio Grande do Sul this study aimed at detecting possibilities for the arose, through qualitative analysis, in combination with the method of oral history-mode, life history, new reading of the scenery of rural education. This study reveals, in oral narratives of teachers / collaborators, the differentiated experience at so many speeches made in analysis of the educational field, often reiterating the education of the communities and rural schools like sceneries as derogatory and dichotomized, antagonistic to the urban site Inscriptions that mark the potential of education are represented by the teachers as beingunique, independent of the geographical space which are constituted by women and men. This study loads, the narratives, the sense that different experiences and realities are possible.
