Abstract

This paper makes an analysis of the short story “ in the waters of time”, by Mia Couto, having as thread the recurrence from memory – discursive construction that represents a key element for comprehension of the past and continuity of present - , from the perspective of demonstrate your influence on the preservation and maintenance of ancient beliefs and customs, also demonstrating that dialogue established with nationalism, identity and orality.
