This article aims to theoretically explain the conceptual foundations that have provided and provide the Critical Discourse Analysis a consistent approach and epsitemológica on their training as a theoretical-methodological model. To do so, at first, expose himself aspects of the historical constitution of the ADC as time, space and actors who contributed to its formation. Furthermore, we discuss a theoretical and reflective discussion on dialogism and polyphony in the proposed of Bakhtin (1988, 2002), the discourse as practice from the perspective by Foucault (2002) and the proposed three-dimensional analysis of Fairclough (2008). Conclude himself, with certainty, that these conceptual elements have been and are relevant to the analysis of the text, while form and function, in view of the ADC.
