In this article, we use two covers of the magazine ‘Nova Escola’, April publisher, in the year 2006, as a starting point for discussion about the principles of the ‘Relatório Jacques Delors’ and the education of XXI century. Our goal was to find remnants of the ideals proposed by the document on the covers of the magazine and counter with some teories. We discussed the integration of technologies, including television and computer in the classroom, in order to glimpse the idea that not enough appropriate the media to achieve critical education and citizenship, must go beyond the technicist bias the technology used to create opportunities for students to develop intellectually. Inserting the technology in the process of teaching and learning by following the "manual", the journal does not guarantee the full development of the students, nor the commitment to learning the knowledge produced historically. Therefore, we find, throughout the study, a ‘Nova Escola’ reverberates the principles of the Relatório Delors in their cover stories and they both advocate a school based in the cohesion of classes, responsible to the peace and tolerance and not discusses social inequalities. The school, in this perspective, is a space where we appreciates the development of skills for the global context instead of intellectual learning of the student, should be ready to adapt to the society in which it operates.
